At Wacousta Cooperative Preschool, we believe learning begins with connection. We serve children ages 3–5 and are proud to offer both traditional preschool and GSRP programming. We're Hiring: Assistant GSRP Preschool Teacher

Location: Wacousta Cooperative Preschool, Wacousta, MI
Position Type: Part-Time, School Year (Follows GSRP Calendar)
Start Date: August 2025

Wacousta Cooperative Preschool is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dependable Assistant GSRP Preschool Teacher to join our vibrant, play-based early childhood program. This role supports the Lead GSRP Teacher in creating a warm, inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive. Our cooperative model fosters strong family engagement, community connection, and developmentally appropriate learning rooted in respect and joy.

Responsibilities

Support the Lead GSRP Teacher in implementing daily routines, learning activities, and individualized support for children ages 4–5.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment that promotes emotional, social, physical, and cognitive development.
Assist in documentation of student progress, family communication, and classroom preparation.
Participate in professional development, team meetings, and reflective practice aligned with GSRP requirements.
Build relationships with children, families, and community partners in alignment with our cooperative philosophy.

Qualifications

Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with young children in a licensed preschool or child care setting
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing and GSRP standards
Preferred:
- Child Development Associate (CDA) or Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Familiarity with GSRP standards, Creative Curriculum, and Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
